Artequine-600/750 is used to treat patients who present an acute uncomplicated malaria infection caused by Plasmodium falciparum (a particular type of malaria parasite) acquired in areas with high transmission of the diseases (e.g., Africa).
This drug is also recommended to treat falciparum malaria parasite which are resistant to other anti-malaria drugs, or malaria caused by mixed malaria parasite.
Malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum is a serious life-threatening disease that requires complete cure. To achieve this, it is extremely important for you to take all tablets of Artequin-600/750, exactly as directed by the doctor and for the full 3-day course of treatment even if you begin to feel bitter after each day. If you stop taking this medicine too soon (i.e before the third day), your symptoms may return.
