BPH is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland which is located in the lowerportion of the urinary bladder surrounding the urethra (urine carrying tube).In menwith BPH, the prostate gland becomes large enough to squeeze the urine tube runningthrough it. If this tube is squeezed it narrows, making it more difficult to pass urine.
